September Income Report: $6,639 PASSIVE INCOME

Transparency.

It’s been my word for the last few months. My hope is that by being transparent in both my parenting and my business that others will be able to live fuller lives because of it. My instinct wants to hide the ugly and only share the pretty – but then I’m reminded that through the vulnerable moments is actually were people most connect.

Each month I share my income report to inspire others and show them there is real money to be made in blogging. It also helps me to keep track of my own progress and goals.

You might remember that in April I made over $10,000 ($11,046) then again in July I made over $10,000 ($10,478). Those were really fun blog posts to write and share. In August I made just over $6,000 ($6368) – which is still an amazing number but it was lower than what I knew I could do.

At first I felt defeated. I know of another blogger with less pageviews than me making over $100,000 a month. Yes, you read that right!! A month. Can you imagine?

This month I came in again just over $6,000, $6,639 to be exact. Which is freaking awesome but I still felt defeated. I had a goal and it wasn’t close. It wasn’t greed. It’s just that I’m very goal oriented, numbers person who likes to move forward not backwards.

But then a few things happened…

• I remembered that we are in transition. We just sold a house. We remodeled an RV (pictures to come soon, I promise!). We downsized and moved into an RV with plans to travel for a few months before moving to the East Coast.
• I remembered that the other blogger making $100,000 doesn’t have kids. I do. I can’t work on the blog 100 hours a week because my kids come first.
• I remember that I prioritized date nights with my husband.
• I remember that I spend almost no time on the blog and still made income.

Take all that into account and suddenly $6,639 is incredible. It’s almost entirely all PASSIVE income. My blog was able to sustain my family’s finical needs while my time and my energy went elsewhere.

I continue to be shocked and amazed at how much I’m able to make through this blog, the possibilities are endless and the income I’m making is just the beginning.

In the last 12 months I made over $85,000 blogging. I never would have guessed this when I started my blog two and a half years ago.

Family First. Always.

I recently read a book, that was exactly what I needed. The One Thing. It’s amazing and I highly recommend every entrepreneur read it.

And it reminded me of a critical fact… If life was like a juggling routine, work would be a rubber ball (it will bounce back if dropped) but family, friends and integrity would be glass balls (they will chip or even shattered if they aren’t handled with care).

When I started this blog I promised myself one thing. Family first. Always. 

And this month my blog proved to be the perfect business to live that moto with. It let me take care of my family and it sustained itself on it’s own with very little time from me.
