August Income Report: $6,368 without Sponsored Posts

A few months ago I started publishing my income reports to help show other moms the possibility that is out there. 2 and a half years ago I started this blog to try and see if I could turn blogging into a part-time job or not. Less than a year after I started it was making enough to support my family full-time.

This month is super exciting because I didn’t take on a single sponsored post and still made over $6,000.

Our Life in a Nutshell

Here’s a quick update on what’s been going on in our personal life the last month…

We close on our house in 4 days! We listed the house ourselves – so that was added work but worth it since we’re saving a ton in relator fees. Corey’s been busy remodeling our next home, our “little house” as my toddler calls it. It’s an RV (a fifth wheel to be exact) that we’ll be living in for the next few months as we travel the US  and I’ll continue to blog while we’re on the road.

We’re not sure how long of an adventure it will be, it depends on how much we like it. 😉 We’re guessing we’ll do it for a few months before we move to our final destination in North Carolina.

Somehow while Corey was remodeling the RV and my children were napping I found time to finish and launch Successful Startup, a blogging course I’d been working on for quite some time. Successful Startup’s launch went extremely well – thank you to all my awesome students who are currently taking the course and starting their very own money-making blogs!

August Income: $6,368

Each month I keep track of how much we make, share what changes we’ve made and what we’ve learned. My hope is that it inspires you in some way – whether you’re a total newbie ready to start your first blog or an experienced blogger looking for ideas to improve your income.

This month I’m thankful for passive income streams, with everything going on I had way less time to work on the blog. The little time I did have went mainly towards the launch of Successful Startup.

In August, my blog made $6368.  

While that’s lower than my average, I’m still very happy when I take into account the limited time I had to work this month.

We currently use AdThrive to manage all our display ads. We made the switch over to them once we had enough traffic to qualify. Before that we used Google Adsense.

Since I had limited time this month, I chose not to do any sponsored work and instead focused my limited time elsewhere. When I do write sponsored posts, two of my favorite companies to get work from are IZEA and TapInfluence.

Total: $6,368
