Build an Emergency Fund stress free — sounds pretty cool, huh? If you are a regular around here you know that my husband and I hate stress, we on purpose plan our life to be as stress free as possible. We’ve been able to keep a lot of stress and tension off our marriage by being purposeful with the small things like keeping our house decluttered, avoiding buying and accumulating extra things, making sure we live under our means, and building up an emergency fund.
Having an emergency fund helps get rid of a lot of extra stress AND the good news is, building it doesn’t have to be stressful either!
How to Build an Emergency Fund:
Be intentional about where your money goes and make a plan to set aside a specific amount weekly or monthly into your new emergency fund. Make your plan within your means, wether it’s $10 a week or $500 a month you’re moving forward and that’s what matters. Look over last months spending and find things you can cut back on to create the difference.
Write it out and put it somewhere in your face, maybe tape it to the inside of your wallet or onto the headboard of your bed. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and lose sight of the goals we’ve set if we aren’t careful. To help yourself achieve financial peace write those goals somewhere they won’t be forgotten.
Create a separate savings account. That way it will be able to accumulate without accidentally getting spent. If you are able to set aside $1000 upfront, be sure to take advantage of Capital One 360’s Black Friday Sale and earn a $100 bonus {see the 4th offer down on the chart below}.

Don’t have $1000 yet, here are ways to get there:
–Have a Garage Sale and/or consign clothes at a local resale shop.
–Every time you go grocery shopping get $20/$40 cash back and set it aside in an Emergency Fund envelope that you can use to start a savings account with.
–Are a health nut and enjoy sharing with your friends? Hosting Essential Oils classes would be a fun way for you to make a little side income.
–Take advantage of Capital One’s refer a friend bonus through December 1st {see the bottom offer on the chart above}.
