I have no doubt that all of us parents have the same common goal, to raise confident, able kids. So I thought it would be fun to pull together 7 activities and ideas to help enforce those characteristics!
7 Ways to Boost A Child’s Confidence
1. I Can Draw Myself
I absolutely love this activity because it helps kids to view themselves in a positive light. Not only will they draw themselves, the also have to write at least 6 positive words that describe themselves. To print this off, stop by this post here. This is a fun activity to complete once or twice a year to watch how they grow!
2. Creative Art
Let kids create and enjoy the process of art without strict instructions on how the end result should look. Here’s a wonderful post by a friend of mine on how to foster creativity in your kids.
Marbled shaving cream prints are one of our favorite creative art projects because each one ends up so unique based on how the kids want to drop and swirl.
3. Display Kids Art
Kids are naturally proud of their work — boost their confidence by showing it off around the house! Here’s 15 ways to show off their work without giving your house that cluttered feel.
When you run out of wall space, let them choose which pieces they want to keep up and which ones they want to store away in their very own Smash Book.
4. Read Character Building Books Together!

Here’s another one that looks awfully cute: Hey! You’re Great! by
5. Play the Giving Game
Confident kids know the world is bigger than them but also that they are big enough to make a difference in the world. Teach kids kindness with the giving game where they surprise their family members with fun little surprises day after day.
6. Make a Be Yourself Board!
When I bumped into this idea on Pinterest I absolutely fell in love! A board full of words and inspirations that remind us we are special and that it’s ok to be ourselves! Make one for the kids room so it’s the first thing they see when they wake up.
7. Let Them Decorate Their Own Room
Their room is a space to call theirs, it’s the perfect place to start learning how to take care of something. Have them be in charge or all aspects from keeping it clean, to rearrange and decorating. And speaking of decorating these recycled paper garlands are some of our favorite beginner decorations!
After a busy day building confidence it’s time to fuel back up! We are huge fans of Horizon crackers and we love all the work they are doing to help promote growing curious and confident kids!
P.S We love eating snacks outside, it’s another opportunity each day to get some fresh air. Throw a quilt on the grass and enjoy a picnic snack! Here’s my little cutie diving in to her box of crackers.
