Looking for an epic art project? You found it: beautiful one-of-a-kind marbled prints. I became a huge fan of shaving cream art when I worked in a preschool years ago, watching all the kids eyes light up was absolutely worth the “mess.” (Notice I put mess in quotes, that’s because even though it looks messy it’s one of the easiest projects to clean up!)
If you follow us on Facebook {or Pinterest} you know how much we love learning through fun art projects.
Grab a cookie sheet from your kitchen and help your eager child squirt it full of shaving cream (it’s optional to line the pan with aluminum foil).
Using a ruler/spatula/squeegee (whatever you have on hand!) smooth out the shaving cream the best you can. Drip drops of different colors food coloring all over the pan.
Hand you child a fork or something to connect the dots with and let them go to town marbling their masterpiece however they like. You can even let them use their finger for sensory play, just be aware that food coloring can stain.
Eeeks! It’s time for the print. Press down a sheet of paper gently onto the shaving cream.
Pull it up, squeegee all the shaving cream off and then TADA: Your first marbled shaving cream art! It’s ready to be displayed on the fridge.
Save the shaving cream and use it for this next activity: Textured Finger Paint (makes awesome bath paint)

We did this project this morning and the kids had a blast with the shaving cream. They had fun feeling it with their hands and using plastic forks and a spatula to mix the colors. The art came out lovely and they were impressed with how they created art with just shaving cream and food coloring. Thanks for sharing!
