Summer Bucket List: Magazine Style
Supplies:
- Scissors
- Magazines, Stickers, or Printed Web Search Images (or they can just draw!)
- Markers
- Large Pieces of Paper
- Optional: A Super Cute Date Stamp — to “mark off” items as you complete them throughout the summer
I decided to draw a bucket on mine, but as you can see, the kids did their own interpretation for this! We just sat together and thumbed through magazines, finding pictures of things we may want to do this summer. I also pulled out the newspaper and some local ads to find images of things here where we live.
Note: this may turn into more of a “wish-list” . . . I had to remind them that just because it was on their bucket list, did not mean it would automatically happen. Example? We are not getting a dog this summer. Despite these adorable stickers and photos. ☺
If you are on a budget like our family is, check out this post with 50 FREE activity ideas – you can even start the project by having them simply choose from this list!
(Josh seems to want a dog too – notice the lovely drawing of “Mom” saying “Yes, you can have a dog!”. I have a feeling this will be a theme this summer. . . )
Have fun coming up with ideas, then put the lists somewhere you can see them, for summer inspiration all season long! Also check out our “Bored Jar” post for more great ways to bust the summer boredom bug.

This is such a creative idea! We usually sit down to draft our family bucket list on the last day of school, but I never thought to combine it with an art project! I’ll have to implement this idea next week! 🙂 Thanks a bunch!
