Eek! My first Stitch Fix box just arrived and it’s the most fun I’ve had in a long time! It was like my birthday, the clothes were even wrapped up in tissue! I held my breath as I unwrapped it, I was hoping I would like at least one thing. I knew it was my first fix and that it would probably take some time for my stylist to get to know me.
A few month ago my friend Gretchen introduced me to Stitch Fix. I was still on the fence about it so I asked if she would write a post about it so I could learn more. I figured others probably were curious too! You can read the post here: Why Moms Love Stitch Fix.
Her post totally convinced me that I had to try it! So I set up my style profile, saved up a little extra spending money and scheduled my first box.
To help out my stylist I created a Pinterest board with styles and looks I love (this is optional but really helps your stylist “get you” more). I put in a special request for a cardigan and nursing friendly clothes if possible. Then I waited for my box to arrive.
I was giddy when it arrived! As I pulled out the items I was squealing with delight! Everything looked fabulous, a few things I wasn’t sure about but I still couldn’t wait to try them on and see. Gretchen taught me a lot to things in her tips and tricks post, including Rule #1 of Stitch Fix: try everything on! You never know what you might fall in love with.
In my box:
Aleah Heathered V-Neck Dolman Top – Blue
I loved this right away, it felt soft, looked comfy and I loved the length of it! I couldn’t wait to try this one on. But after trying it on I didn’t like how low the neckline was, especially as a mom playing and scooping kids all day I’d rather not have to think about it.
Verdict: Returned
Sawyer Space Dye Dolman Sleeve Knit Top – Burgundy
I didn’t think I would like this one but after trying it on I love it! I ended up loving the color on me and paired with the necklace below it’s adorable! Can’t wait to go on a date in this outfit!
Verdict: Kept!
Porter Legging – Black
No picture for this one. I loved them but they were a size too small but good news, I emailed customer service and they were able to find the next size up to exchange!
I love that my stylist was brilliant enough to send leggings for transition time after giving birth! Loved the material and how thick they were (I hate leggings that are see through when you bend over!). Can’t wait for the correct size pair to arrive!
Verdict: Exchanged for Correct Size
Carly Graphic Print Cardigan – Grey
I loved this when I pulled it out of the box, the print is awesome and it is SO SOFT and comfy! Unfortunately, it just felt like too much fabric in the front with the way it laid.
Verdict: Returned
Kimmy Stone Lariat Necklace
I didn’t think I would like this since it was such a petite piece but when I tried it on with the burgundy shirt I fell in love! It’s perfect for a dressier occasion!
Verdict: Kept!
I was really impressed with my first fix! I wasn’t expecting to like so much, I can’t wait for my next box!
