Eeek! I’m SUPER excited to be working with Chuck E. Cheese’s for this awesome post! Today is National Cheese Lover’s Day, so we though it would be fun to share a cheesy family photo of us and tips for capturing great pictures with your family! Life flies by so fast that family photos are a MUST but where to start and how to take the best ones can get a little tricky… but not anymore! Here are 3 easy tips for taking the best family photos!
AND as a super awesome bonus, Chuck E. Cheese’s is giving one of our readers a Chuck E. Cheese’s guest pass, the perfect place to take a few family selfies! 😉 More on that at the bottom of this post!
3 Tips for the Best Family Photos
1. Be real together! Don’t be afraid to break the “rules.”
Some of my favorite family photos are where the family isn’t even looking at the camera. They are just interacting, playing, laughing and having fun together. Gone are the days of everyone looking and smiling in every single photo. Have fun together and don’t be afraid to be a little cheesy!
2. Bribe the kids if necessary.
Picture day is one of those days that bribery is totally worth it. Whether it’s ice cream after or chocolate in between pictures, it’s totally worth it! I promise it won’t ruin your kids, it’s only one day, technically even less — just part of a day.

3. A low quality picture is better than no picture at all.
If you can’t afford hiring a photographer, that doesn’t mean you should skip photos. I’m super lucky to have a really close photographer friend that takes our photos, but even still I take a lot of photos in between our shoots with her. We take a lot of selfies with our phones, use the self-timer on our camera and sometimes even ask a nice looking stranger if they’ll snap a photo of us when we’re out.
Here’s an example of a selfie we took at a wedding we attended. It’s totally cheesy but that just makes it even more awesome!
You could even ask a friend if she’ll come snap a few photos for you, bribe her with home baked cookies or offer to trade and take photos for her family in exchange!
It’s your turn! We want to see your pictures! Share your cheesiest family photos with us and/or photos of your family hanging out at Chuck E. Cheese on social media with the hashtag #CheeseLoversDay!
Lastly, and most importantly, after you’ve snapped a few pictures, put the camera down and enjoy your family!
Now the fun part! It’s time to talk about how your family could win a FREE Chuck E. Cheese’s guest pass! If you win you have to try their new Cali Alfredo for me and tell me how it is, I’ve been eyeballing it on their website. Here’s the scoop on the giveaway:
