You are the core of your life, taking care of your kids is a magnificent extension of that but you are the core, so let’s talk about how to enjoy your life fully. So, in the midst of all the craziness don’t forget to take time to strengthen the core, because a stronger core means all the extensions flow with more love and grace.
Enjoy Your Life: For Moms!
1. Find moments for just you.
This is something that doesn’t flow easily into my schedule. I’m a busybody by nature and also very much a people person. When I’m not working or taking care of my kids, I’m hanging out with my hubby or squeezing something in with a friend.
But recently, about 2 months ago, I decided to start taking a little time each day to be with myself. Generally, I use this time for personal growth (reading, podcasts, learning, studying), more recently I’ve been learning how to meditate (which is new to me but so far so good).
Or some days it’s taking a moment to color (a great stress reliever), bake, or take an extra long shower.
I try to fit this time for myself in at the beginning of the day, I use this morning routine to start my day off right. I noticed if I didn’t do it right away, my day would fill up with the other million and one things and me-time just wouldn’t happen.
2. Create your plan, then enjoy the present.
Set goals, write your to-do list, make your plans but then make sure you stop and enjoy the present moment.
Regardless of how crazy the day gets, I make an effort to ground myself with peace and joy. It’s a conscious process all day long, to return to peace and joy but the more I do so the easier it gets.
The reminder to return back to peace helps me worry less about the things that I can’t control and enjoy the moments that would otherwise fly by.
3. Treat yourself.
When is the last time you bought yourself something other than an essential?
2 days ago I opened up another FabFitFun box (it’s a subscription box that comes 4x a year), this is the second time I’ve gotten their box and giddiness bubbles up inside me each time. The feelings of anticipation, excitement, joy, and happiness alone are worth the cost of the box, let alone all the goodies you get inside!
What’s inside a FabFitFun subscription box? That’s the ultimate question.
