I love board games! So, when EQtainment offered to send me their newest game Q’s Race to the Top I just had to say yes!
I know what you’re thinking, isn’t your baby only 9 months old, how will you be able to play? Yes, she is little but I’m not one to let obstacles stop me and I really wanted to be one of the first to try out this new game, that way when it goes big I can say I tried it before it even hit the shelves! Also, this game totally sparked my interested because it is centered around strengthening emotional intelligence in your kids, all while playing and having fun. I decided to use the game as a great excuse for a play date with friends!
What is emotional intelligence?
Read about it in yesterday’s post: The Importance of Emotional Intelligence.
How the game works:
They have 3 different sets of cards each represented by a different color. Blue – questions to get them thinking about themselves, what they would do in different situations, etc.
Green – scenario questions about what others should do.
Red – action cards full of fun and silly things. {These were our FAVORITE!}
More reasons why we love the Q’s Race to the Top:
- It’s totally fun. {Just look at our pictures, we had a blast!}
- Incorporates movement. {There’s something about movement that helps kids get energy out and stay focused. How awesome that they were able to incorporate it into the game? I love them for that!}
- Promotes happiness and humor. {Boy, did we laugh A LOT while we played. We were goofy together and giggled, all while “secretly” strengthening their EQ.}
- It’s flexible. {The first time we played with the fun board game, the next time it was requested we just use the cards for question and answer around the dinning room table.}
- Gets kids thinking.
Check out their awesome Kickstart campaign going on now! I hope you’ll try it out and let us know what you think!
