Sometimes even the greatest dads need a little inspiration for bonding with their baby, beyond hugs, kisses and changing dirty diapers. Relationships start forming from the very beginning, to help it get off to the right start here’s a great list of 10 ways for dad and baby to bond. Let mom can kick her feet up and browse Pinterest while dad takes over for a while.

10 Easy Ways for Dad and Baby to Bond
1. Read books together.
Flipping pages and eating the books counts!
2. Build and knock down blocks.
Can you guess who’s role is who’s. Let’s just say you *might* nickname your baby destructo after this?
3. Babywear.
Invest in a dad-friendly baby carrier. Corey’s favorite, hands down, is the ergo, it can be used for a front or back carry and feels like a comfy backpack. Baby wearing is especially awesome for some skin to skin bonding.
4. Take turns feeding baby.
When baby starts to develop side to side movement of the tongue they are ready to begin eating small, soft pieces of food and start practicing mashing and early chewing skills, an essential milestone in a baby’s development and the perfect stage for dad to help feed. We’ve found that Gerber® 3rd Foods® Lil Bits™ Recipes have the perfect texture and soft bits to help master chewing at this stage.
Dad can have fun playing “airplane” while spoon feeding baby with any of the 10 new flavors that babies love.
5. Take baby on a stroller ride.
6. Play outside together.
Go to the pool. Play in the backyard. Take a bike ride. Teach them how to fix a car, or just ride in a cozy coupe counts too.
7. Head to the park and use the swing.
8. Make a forever keepsake craft together.
This footprint frame is one of my favorites! The size difference between dad’s foot and baby’s foot is something you want to capture before baby’s little foot grows.
9. Snap photos together.
Just get the picture and have fun. Quality photos from a photographer are great but posing for selfies can be just as fun.
10. Snuggle up and help with the bedtime routine.
