I call my blog The Realistic Mama because behind the mask of the internet I am a real person. I have the same day to day struggles as you, and while I can give you neatly wrapped gift of what life should sometimes look like, there are days I cringe when I look around. So here are my 10 Confessions from behind the screen…
Let’s Be Real…I don’t have a perfectly kept house.
When there is a choice I will always choose to enjoy the moment and sometimes relax rather than clean, THEREFORE:
Confession #1 We need a 10 minute warning before company arrives so we can clean like maniacs.
Confession #2 There’s no room for baby in the pack and play because it’s full of laundry.
Confession #3 If there’s an item in the fridge that has been there long enough that it now looks like a science experiment, I don’t always clean it out, I usually toss the whole container.
Confession #4 Dishes are only done when we need counter space to cook the next meal.
Confession #5 I almost bought a mug that said A Messy Kitchen Means a Happy Home but I left it in the store because I didn’t want another dish to wash. True story.
Confession #6 When the trash can is completely full we still manage to balance several more items on top before we finally give in and take it out.
Confession #7 When I Say I am going to soak a pot that usually means for a few days.
Confession #8 Thank goodness for self cleaning ovens… anyone else?
Confession #9 I can’t remember the last time I cleaned out my “junk drawer.” It gets stuck frequently.
And… drum roll please… Confession #10 I’ve never cleaned my ceiling fans (but now that I’ve said it out-loud I just might have to!).
Bonus Confession: You should see me when I am staging blog photos, or really any photo for the fact! I always try and take a picture on a blank wall or clear the mess just enough in the background before I take any photo that might end up on social media! That way no one will know just how many things are on my floor!
I know I am not alone on this journey of motherhood, wearing many hats: wife, blogger, maid, chef, doctor, and anything else life throws at me. So tell us! Can you relate?

We cleaned out our master closet this past weekend and like the Grinch’s heart, our closet grew three sizes after everything was said and done.

Good for you! Cleaning out the closet has been on my to do list since the beginning of the year!I’m not sure I want to know what’s in there. 😉

You are one of my favorite bloggers, because you are so real. I love the things on your blog and the things you choose to share on your accompanying Facebook page. I can’t stand fake, and the reality of you helps me feel less alone in my imperfection. 😉
