As a busy mom, my time with my girlfriends normally happens during family or kid activities. But this week, I decided to plan a “Moms’ Night In” for some long overdue girl time! If you’re anything like me, this is probably something you and your friends could really use. So here are some awesome ideas for themes, drinks, and snacks to help you plan your own “Moms’ Night In”!
1. Spa Night — this is a classic, and truly so relaxing (which every mom could use).
- Make homemade face masks – be sure to snap photos and don’t forget the cucumber slices for your eyes!
- Pedicures and manicures are a must! Everyone can bring their own nail polish to share, to make this a more budget-friendly option.
- Don’t forget some relaxing background music, candles, and dimmed lights. Diffusing your favorite essential oils adds to the relaxing environment too – lavender and rose is my go-to combination.
- Try Pineapple Lemonade for your go-to refreshing drink to sip while the face masks set! Just mix:
- 1 cup of lemonade mix
- 2 cups cold water
- 1 can of chilled pineapple juice {46 oz.}
- 16 oz. of Vintage Original Seltzer (Calorie Free!)
- Pineapple slices, to your taste
- For each mom to take home, you can make this simple 5-Ingredient Homemade Facial Moisturizer together.
2. Pizza Party – for the moms who get tired of the standard cheese and pepperoni. Create a pizza bar with gourmet ingredients! Moms can team up to make large group pizzas, or you can have individual pizzas for each lady.
- Here is a great homemade dough recipe, if you have the time. Store-bought pizza crusts are also a fantastic, time-saving option!

- Don’t forget – everyone needs to come up with a fun name for her new culinary creation!
- If you aren’t pizza-ed out, try this Dessert Pizza. Confession: this is one of my all-time favorite recipes. If I make this, I normally set half aside before I let my husband or daughter even get started.
- While you wait for your pizzas to bake, sip a cocktail and share your favorite first-date stories – bonus points for embarrassing stories!
- Try this Vintage Backyard Bellini Mocktail:
- 1 each – Fresh Raspberries
- 2 oz – Lemonade
- .5 oz – Agave Nectar or Simple Syrup
- Garnish with Raspberries and Mint
- 3 oz – Vintage Original Seltzer
Add fresh raspberries, lemonade, and agave nectar into a shaker tin with ice. Shake well to break up raspberries, and strain into an iced glass. Fill with Vintage Original Seltzer Water. Garnish with raspberries and mint.
3. Accessory Exchange – this serves two purposes for you and your friends . . . everyone gets to de-clutter her closet a little bit, AND everyone gets something cute and new for herself! Truly a win-win.
- Ask each mom to bring a set number of accessories that they are willing to trade out for something new (you pick the number, based on your friends . . . 3-5 is normally reasonable). You can also do this with kid-items, but I think it’s more fun to just stick to things you can enjoy yourself. Ideas include jewelry, purses, scarves – if it is a one-size-fits-all, then it’s fair game!
- Set up a table with white table cloth to display all of the items and take turns picking out something new-to-you.
- For the first pick, have everyone share their favorite story from the past week – first to speak up gets first choice!
- You can also use “Minute-to-Win-It” games to determine who gets to choose next! Here is a post with some great ideas – more can be found just by googling. Choose ones most appropriate to your group of ladies, but definitely pick some that will bring out your silliness and get you laughing!
- For snacks, focus on Nutella. Because it’s amazing. Try one of our favorite 25 Nutella Recipes!
- And of course, don’t forget drinks! I love this Moscato Cocktail – sweet and bubbly, it’s a great choice for moms to sip while catching up.
- 3 oz. Moscato
- 1 oz. vanilla Vodka
- 1 oz. Vintage Pink Grapefruit Sparkling Water
Shake Moscato and vanilla Vodka with ice. Pour into a glass and top with Vintage Pink Grapefruit Sparkling Water – natural fruit flavors make this SO refreshing. Garnish with a strawberry or raspberry and make a toast to your favorite moms! (As always, please drink responsibly.)
To prepare for our night in, I stopped by the Kmart to pick up a few things including some Vintage Sparkling Water and Seltzer. There were several flavors right on the end cap, which made it super convenient! For even more options I also swung into the drink isle.
