Best Baby Shower Ideas
Baby Registry
Make sure mom-to-be registers in at least one online location, that way out of town guests can still easily participate in the gift giving. Amazon is one of my favorites because of their huge selection!
If mom-to-be creates a baby registry on Amazon she’ll also receive a free welcome kit as a bonus! This deal is exclusive to Prime customers which she can sign up here for an Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial. To redeem…
- Create a baby registry and use the “Jumpstart” feature to add items to the baby registry.
- After $10 of those items has been purchased and shipped, you’ll be able to add this welcome box to your cart for free.
Baby Shower Decorations
Make a diaper cake — Cute decoration for the shower and makes a wonderful gift after!
Instead of cards ask everyone to bring a favorite baby book & sign the front of it!
Use a clothesline w/ adorable baby clothes for the decorations. Or leave it empty & fill the clothes line with the baby clothes when mom-to-be opens her presents.
Streamer Wall — Use twister streamers to create decorated backdrop wall for your mom-to-be to sit in front of. Makes for some great pictures!
Baby Shower Games
Guess the Item — Using lettered bags guests have to guess what’s in the bag. Inside each bag is something for the baby that starts with that letter….the one with the most correct guesses wins the prize!
The Price is Right Baby Shower Game — A hilarious game to see how well the new mom-to-be can guess the price of baby items! Afterwards she gets to keep all the goodies from the game.
How Big is Her Belly? — Using yarn everyone guesses the circumference of the mom-to-be’s belly! The closest one wins a prize.
Name that Poop — Have a little diaper fun by melting different types of chocolate inside a diaper. Guests have to guess which type of chocolate bar each one is.
“Tinkle in the Pot” — put a ballon under your shirt and a quarter or a pingpong ball between your knees and try to drop the quarter into a jar……loads of laughs!
Blindfolded Diaper Change — How fun is this! Test everyone’s diaper changing skills with a blindfolded race.
Create “Wishes for Baby” — Grab the animal templates here and hang some strings of ribbon on the wall. Have each guest sign an animal as they walk in the door and clip them on the ribbon.
Meal Calendar — If it’s a local shower why not create a cute calendar that guest can sign on the day they can bring the new-mom a meal after baby comes.
Baby Shower Snacks
“Ready to Pop” Popcorn — Wow your guests with a whole popcorn display!
Raspberry 7UP® Punch — Every baby shower needs a delicious punch.
Pink or Blue M&MS — Fill a bowl or make individual bags for guests to grab.
DIY Hershey’s “HE” or “SHE” Baby Shower Favors — grab a few boxes of bulk Hershey’s Bars & make these cute affordable snacks.

More Gift Ideas
A quality baby carrier — The convenience of hands free is a life saver for new moms. Carriers are also great for bonding between baby & mom (and dad), and perfect for going out and about. 2 favorites and great go-tos are: ergo w/ infant insert & moby wrap.
Swaddle Blankets — I can not say enough good things about Aden & Anias swaddle blankets. Although slightly more expensive, they are absolutely worth the money. They are easy to swaddle and are big enough to swaddle baby as they grow. They also double as great nursing covers, car seat covers, and can be thrown on the floor for tummy time!
Diapers & Wipes — This is a great go-to gift because you know they will get used! Think about getting a few different sizes so they’ll be covered as the baby grows.
Clothes — New moms usually get avalanched with too many baby clothes and especially the itty-bitty sizes. If you do find yourself in the baby clothes isle dying to buy something for the new mom, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Think about the mom’s style — what style will she most likely clothe her baby in?
- What season will it be when they fit the size you’re buying?
- You can never have enough white onesies! To match those random crazy pants, go under dresses, vests, etc.
- Opt for a gift card so mom can choose a few of her favorite outfits.
Go in with a few friends on a bigger item — Instead of getting her another pink onesie, think about pooling together with a few friends on a crib, car seat, stroller, or pack-n-play.
Items on her registry — Sometimes we get so creative that we forget that mom really needs those basics and essentials on her list. Especially those “boring” items that aren’t “as fun” to give.

I have made a few diaper cakes for several ladies who had babies over the last few years. I think they are a fun centerpiece too.
I love the price baby shower game. I would love to try and match up prices of each of the goodies on the table.

My sister hosted my baby shower and 2 things I really enjoyed as the mother to be was the advice cards the guests filled out and put in a photo album, and the design a onesie contest! Blind judged for both and winners got prizes

I’ve read a lot of articles on throwing a baby shower but I have never seen the leave a baby wish wall before. I love that idea. Something else I’ve been considering is one of those mobile spa parties. My mother-in-law said that when she was in labor she kept wishing her toes were done for some reason. Is that something that the mother to be would like or not?

I love outside-the-box ideas like that! I think it would depend on the mom but I’m sure there are tons of soon-to-be moms that would love that.

My daughter did this about a week before she delivered. Didn’t really matter once she was in labor, but she loved having it done before her delivery as she felt more femine and good about herself

So one of my best friends just had a baby and the other bestie is pregnant. My “GoTo Gift” has always be a Daddy Diper bag. I pick out a plain back pack normally gray if I can find it. Then I fill it with baby basics like a pack of pacifiers, baby wash, baby lotion, butt paste, baby powder, A&D, wipes, a small pack of diapers. Then I add in some fun items like a homemade sock monkey, baby blanket. Then to poke some fun at the dad to be I throw in some rubber gloves a clothes pin and safety goggles in a plastic bag labeled “Diper Change Servival Kit” and finish it off with a book signed from me and my fiancé. So often dad gets forgotten and its items mom can use too.

Such a creative, thoughtful gift!

I love your ideas! I want to do the cutouts for a baby shower but can’t figure out how big to make them so guests can write a wish. On the elephant for example, how many did you get per a page? I’m using 8 x 11 cardstock.
Thank you!
