I’m always looking for easy activities to do with the kiddos and if the supplies are free it’s a super bonus, that’s why we love these DIY Free Puzzle Games made with Paint Samples! We use paint sample puzzles and quiet books all the time to entertain the kids.
DIY Free Puzzle Games:
All you need are some paint samples, from the paint section at a local store, and scissors. Cut easy designs into the paint samples for younger aged kids and more complicated patterns for older kids and Voila! You have a DIY Puzzle. For my little one I made puzzles with only 2 pieces each but for older ones there can be several pieces.
For the older children, let them design their own puzzles, give them a marker and they can draw pictures on the sample before you cut it, creating their very own puzzle. This keeps the kids hands and minds busy whenever I need a few minutes of peace at night when I’m trying to cook dinner.
It’s also the perfect carry project for restaurants while waiting for food or in the car! I store them in a sandwich bag and throw them in my purse for a quick on the go activity! I took these and our Quiet Book while running errands the other day and pulled them out while I was filling out paperwork in the doctor’s office and got tons of compliments!
