It’s about that time again! The days start to get longer, the nights warmer, and the backyard parties more frequent! Summer time wouldn’t be complete without the backyard BBQ’s, so here are our favorite Backyard BBQ Hacks!

Need a little extra lighting around the yard? Coat planters or even walkway stones with glow in the dark paint, they will “charge” all day and leave a perfect glowing path at night! Plus 4 other Great backyard tips! 

Need to keep those pesky flies out of your drink? Genius! Simply turn cupcake liners upside down and poke a straw through. The liner acts as a lid! Plus 20 other food hacks for everyday!

But! A BBQ wouldn’t be a BBQ if you didn’t have Lay’s potato chips! This year the Lay’s brand has brought back their “Do Us A Flavor” Contest. You submit what the next iconic flavor will be, and you could win $1 million dollars!

We use Lay’s Potato Chips at cookouts in a variety of ways! Of course the most obvious we eat them as a side dish. We eat them plain, with ketchup or with mayo…sometimes we get “really fancy” and eat them with our fancy sauce of mayo and ketchup mixed together! I love to use them on top of salads in lieu of croutons! I simply crush a few handfuls up and toss them on top! Another way we love to eat Lay’s Classic Potato Chips dipped in coleslaw. You read that right…. coleslaw!

This bring me to the most brilliant flavor idea yet, Black Pepper Coleslaw! Kill 2 birds with 1 stone, have your favorite Lay’s Potato Chips and your favorite coleslaw slide all meshed up into 1! Of course we do love the hundreds of other flavor ideas already submitted, see all the entries here and enter yours! I chose Black Pepper Coleslaw because my grandmother still makes coleslaw by the quart with ingredients straight from her garden! I won’t lie, on my way to a BBQ I would usually cheat and grab a pre-made kit at the store, and put it in a fancy bowl… no one will know right?
