Have kiddos that love art? Art is one of my favorite things, I love doing projects with the kiddos! But they can keep going forever and sometimes mom needs a break, so it’s nice to have a go-to that the kids can do on their own — like this art app, lots of paint and splatter but no mess and no clean up!
It’s not always easy to find apps that both the kids and you like — but Mickey’s Magical Arts World is a winner in our book. It helped me get the break I needed and afterward it turned into even more bonding time with my child — the app inspired us.
Be inspired by the app:
Use the ideas in this app to inspire ideas beyond the app!
While I cook dinner, my daughter is playing with costumes and creating a movie on the app. After dinner we got out our camera, used the video setting, and created our own home movies!
My daughter was a huge fan of the movie portion. I recorded her a little message to play at the beginning of the movie and she couldn’t get over it, it put a huge smile on her face!
Tomorrow I’m planning to surprise her with a cookie decorating day! Inspired by the chocolate chip cookie in the Materials section of the game!
I love the colors she used in the drawing section of the game! I’ve screen shotted it and we are planning to print it out and frame it. We’ll use a frame we make ourselves out of cardstock — that girly can decorate anyway she wants!
And I don’t know if I can pull it off, but I’ve always been intrigued by the people that turn their kids drawings into stuffed animals.
Use the app as a way to entertain the kids when you need and then as a jumping off point for spending more time together after! Be creative and the possibilities are truly endless!
More about the app:
Mickey’s Magical Arts World is apart of Disney’s new learning brand: Disney Imagicademy — designed for families with children ages 3 to 8 to inspire a natural love of learning and encourage kids to learn by creating, making and doing.
Another great feature of this app is that it has a place for parents called the Disney Imagicademy Parents — this is a resources that I use and incorporate outside of the technology. Things to practice with your child, updates on how your child is doing, and even ways to connect to the community created by Disney.
You can download them both here: Mickey’s Magical Arts World & Disney Imagicademy Parents — both are available exclusively for iPad and can be found on Apple’s App Store.
