Treat yourself? Is that still a thing? Being a mom is no easy job and sometimes we as mom’s forget that we can treat ourselves. Lots of things can cause “Mommy Meltdown” from the dishes piling up, to the toddler that doesn’t sleep, the teenager that knows it all, the stress of the house and bills, and extra spouse pressure. But sometimes to get out of the funk, we need a fun way to encourage ourselves to keep going, even though buying a one way ticket to Mexico might sounds like the best idea.
If you’re a part of our Facebook page you know that every night I ask a “Let’s talk” question. It’s a fun way that we all connect, share funny stories, and encourage each other to be better moms. The other night I asked our followers how they treat themselves, here are a bunch of great ideas to treat yourself today! In the end it doesn’t have to be much as long as it’s something. {And make sure you don’t miss the fabulous Lush Décor Giveaway at the bottom of this post!}
The Question:
Let’s talk…
As mom’s we get busy and sometimes we forget about ourselves. I’d love to know, what are some ways that you treat yourself?
For example: I almost always buy my favorite candy bar on grocery shopping day because life’s too short not to.
20 Ways to Treat Yourself:
We started “Mommy’s night off” after our 2nd was born. Tuesday nights are my nights to do whatever I want. Some weeks I go out to eat, some weeks I go shopping, some weeks I send everyone else out and enjoy some Netflix time uninterrupted. –Bekah
For me, it’s a Starbucks at least once per week! –Nina
I am a book junkie. I always buy books for myself. –Kara
I take long bathroom breaks to just read by myself without being bothered!
More seriously, going to the gym is one of my favorite parts of the day – I take group classes, so there’s a comradeship and they have childcare! It’s a nice break for some adult time doing something I like and that makes me feel better. –Natalie
I usually grab an order of sushi at my favorite store in grocery day. –Jennifer
Soak in a hot bath every other night.
Definitely get a Starbucks while doing my grocery shopping and once a week dates with the hubby. –Ashley
Ill book a pedicure every few months… {and} If I remember to think of it, tea always feels like a luxurious treat. It’s so charming and peaceful–even to prepare it. –Melisa
Occasionally I watch a movie during the day when both kids are asleep, instead of cleaning. –Sharon
Yoga………… and Starbucks. And the occasional pedicure. –Kim
I sit in the tub and soak with a good book on a regular basis. It’s my little check out from life and it’s free! –Becki

Go on a mommy vacation.
Journal — there’s something about writing that is just therapy for me and I love it. That’s why I started a blog.
