Love this! My toddler isn't a picky eater yet, but I have a feeling it's coming my way soon. This is an awesome way to look at the whole eating healthy thing. Children love to have their own say in things, which is totally something parents should want and this is the perfect approach to that.

I'm so glad I read this! Thank you.

I totally agree that it takes a lot of repeat to get kids to like something new. Some things I do is make sure they have not heavily snacked and are plenty hungry when I am unsure what they will do when dinner looks different. My kids are more inclined to try the new food when they e hungry. We have a one bite rule before making a decision about eating, even for us adults! Sometimes my son won't eat it without encouragement.... I get over the top excited about every meal so my son usually is excited to see what's on his plate. My kids love spinach salad, carrots, cucumber, salsa, hummus, sweet potatoes, lentils, brown or white rice.... They don't even know there is a difference! They love flavor and I am not shy about giving them each item many different ways!

My toddler is a pretty good eater. I ask that he try something once because he might like it. I also give him choices: "Would you like peas or corn?" I also ask him in the grocery store to help me pick out the fruits and vegetables he would like for the week.

I am so thankful that my kids weren't too picky of eaters. I get them to try things at least once before they were allowed to tell me that they didn't like it. My youngest is 4 and he will eat just about anything. He loves avocado, sweet potatoes, and more.
