Every relationship is like a roller coaster, jolting through the ups and downs but the absolute worst are the long plateaus — where everything is just alright.
Those 2 little words are the death of a happy couple, while you’re not miserable, you are missing out on the sparks and chemistry, everything feels a little bland or just so-so.
It isn’t best, but it isn’t the worst either, your relationship continues to be just fine.
Just fine? Just alright? So-so? It’s not quite the happily ever after we all dreamed about.
Want something different?
So many couples are just inches away from an amazing, unstoppable, extra-ordinary relationship but are missing one small but very key element…. something to propell them, something to continually push them to that next level.
Or maybe you’re still in the happy dating/honeymoon stage, you can make this change before you head directly into that long plateau of just alright. Set a propellor in place ahead of time to continue to push you in the right direction.
It’s time to set up a weekly date night.
And actually do it this time.
Pick a day, like Friday, and write in “Date Night” on each and every Friday. Then, when someone asks if you’re free Friday, the answer is “Shoot. Looks like I already have something going on that night.”
Next, grab the book 175 Best Date Ideas, and pick a different date each week.
The book will help keep things exciting. It may occasionally push you a little outside your comfort zone (which is a great opportunity to lean on one another). Other nights, when you’re feeling low key, you can select an at home date.
Treat date night like an appointment, don’t cancel it, don’t postpone it, don’t be late. Plan for it the same way you plan for everything else on your calendar.
You are bigger and better than a just alright, so-so relationship. What are you waiting for? Grab a propellor and say hello to your happily ever after.
