Grilled Cheese Sandwiches and Cheeseburgers — 2 classics combined into one delicious combination!
Grilled cheese sandwiches are the perfect go-to, soup dipping, kid favorite meal in our house. And the cheeseburger is our late evening, grill-out, comfort food. Bring-all-your-friends-over kind of food. So in the spirit of friends, why not merge the two for an ultimate twist to a classic sandwich: The Grilled Cheese Cheeseburger!
All of your favorite toppings with your perfectly seasoned beef, surrounded by not 1 but 2 grilled cheese sandwiches as buns. Yes! You read that right! Your grilled cheese is going to be your bun!
Here is what you will need:
– Arla Dofino Cheese (our favorite is Jalapeno Havarti)
– Eureka! Organic Bread
– Lean Ground Beef
– Salt and Pepper for seasoning
– Unsalted Butter
– Toppings of your choice (we used avocado, tomato, lettuce, and onion)

Directions
First, grill or fry your burger, set it aside to rest and cool once prepared. We use about 1/3 lb of meat per burger and season with salt and pepper.
Next, start by cutting up your Arla Dofino cheese. You will need approximately 2 ounces. We chose to slice ours, but we found shredding it was a great option too!
Once you have cut your cheese, take your room temperature butter and butter 1 side of each slice of bread.
Now you can start the creation of the grilled cheese! Drop a tablespoon of unsalted butter into your skillet. Your skillet should be on medium heat, and let the butter melt.
Once the butter has melted, place the first piece of bread, butter side down into the pan. You then stack your Arla Dofino cheese directly onto the piece of bread. One the cheese has been stacked, place the last slice of break on top of the cheese butter side up.
Cook each side until it’s golden and the cheese is melted. You will make 2 full grilled cheese sandwiches.
Now you are ready to begin stacking your burger with your favorite toppings. We used sliced tomatos, lettuce, avocado, and red onion. We also used some of the Jalapeno Havarti Arla Dofino Cheese shredded on top! Arla Dofino cheeses are naturally good from farm to fridge. You can really be creative here and a twist to how you up cycle this classic Grilled Cheese Cheeseburger! Grab some mango salsa and pineapple and have a sweet Hawaiian spin. Grill some mushroom and onions and make a chipolata mayo grilled cheese cheese burger. The possibilities are endless!
We went for light and fresh since the sandwich is gargantuan!
