Our girls love to play pretend! We love to build and encourage their imaginations, so we put together some fun DIY forts and popped a bowl of our favorite Pop Secret Popcorn {a Realistic Mama sponsor} and went to work! We made this our popcorn and fort building movie night and giving us a whole day of family fun!

Check out this popcorn hack! This is Genius, I use it every time to make sure my girls don’t accidentally get choked:
Now time to build!
Epic Fort #1
This was super fun! My oldest even slept in it! Here is all you need:
This fort is super simple! Grab a string and Tie it onto something like a door or a really stable object. Chairs and things will fall over since the string bears most of the weight. Tie off both ends of string. Place your mattress down where you want the tent to be. The mattress will help serve as an anchor to spread the blanket.
Once you have the mattress down, you can throw your blanket over the string. It will hang like you see above. Start tucking, the ends of the blanket around the edges of the mattress. This will create the traditional tent look! We added some fun lights we had left over. You may need to adjust the tension on the string once the blanket is in place.
Epic Fort # 2
Why have I never thought of this before? All you need is a hallway and your shower curtain & rod!
Place the tension rod in between the walls of the hallway, drape the curtain back and tape the bottom so it creates a little tent. My girls loved this more as a secert passage into the tunnel! The possibilities are endless. We eventually draped another blanked over the front of the tension rod to create a door! We also had to make sure all our favorite animals were fed Popcorn.
Finished Product was super simple!
Epic Fort #3
This was our favorite and most Classic.
All we did was drag our kitchen table into the living room (in front of our fake fireplace) we draped a blanket over the table, and then added 2 chairs at the entrance to make the for a bit larger! We added furniture, Movie, and of course Popcorn! And this was the mini kid cave! And it wouldn’t be a kids fort without a little accident.
Do you like to build forts with your kids we would love to see, and so would Pop Seceret! They are giving away fun surprises to the best forts submitted! Submit your photos to the Pop Secret Facebook page using #PopSecretForts!
