It’s time for a park day with the kids and not just any park day a ridiculously good park day! Invite friend, pack snacks and go to the coolest park you know of! Make this summer awesome for the kids, they will be grown before you know it. We decided to get together with Cape Cod® Potato Chips (our sponsor for this post) and make list of 20 easy, delicious and park worthy snacks to take with you.
20 Easy, Yummy Snack for Kids
Watermelon — always a winner especially on hot summer days. Sure, it gets a little messy sometimes but nothing a little water can’t fix.
Ants on a Log — the kids can help make these! You can take the ingredients to the park and make them there or prep them at home so they are all ready to go. Most people make ants on a log with celery, peanut butter & raisins…. but I think chocolate chips are way more fun for a special occasion!
Easy Healthy Toddler Muffins — these are awesome! They have “hidden” vegetables that the kids won’t mind at all!
Cape Cod® Potato Chips — We love Cape Cod® Potato Chips: Home of Ridiculously Good Chips! Last park trip my daughter and I finished a whole bag on our own. I love Cape Cod®’s high standard of production including small batch crafting, simple, high-quality, all natural ingredients, hand selected potatoes and a better choice because they have no preservatives and are gluten free (which we aren’t but some of our friends are and we love having snack options for them too!). Another great option is their popcorn snacks, which I can’t wait to try.
Veggies with Ranch — red bell peppers are one of our favorite veggies because of their sweet taste, just make sure you pack them in a cooler! And here’s a great recipe for homemade ranch!
Fruit Cups — mandarin oranges are usually a hit with kids.
Dried Fruit
- Raisins
- Apple rings
- Apricots
Fresh Fruit
- Mangoes — we just had these today, make sure they are juicy and ripe and the kids are sure to be fans!
- Pomegranates — these are just fun! They can get a little messy with the red juice, which makes them perfect for the park!
- Grapes
- Apples
- Cherries
- Berries
- Peaches, Nectarines, Plums
- and the list goes on!
Sunflower Seeds
Trail Mix
Crackers & Cheese –pack the cheese in a cooler. For extra fun pack cookie cutters and sliced cheese so the kids can cut cute shapes out of their cheese!
Potato Chips with Dip — this is my husband’s favorite! So whenever he comes along for our super fun park day I try to pack some Cape Cod® Potato Chips, their Sea Salt Waffle Cut Chips are delicious with a yummy homemade dip. It’s just seasoning in sour cream, play around with what seasonings you like or search Pinterest for recipes (and be sure to follow us while you’re over there!). One of our favorites is this recipe here — substituting the yogurt & mayo with sour cream makes a delicious dip for dipping veggies or chips!
Try Cape Cod® Potato Chips, now available from your local grocer. And you’re park day could get even better if you happen to open one of the 12 bags of chip that holds a $5000 prize! The Ridiculously Good Bags of Cash promotion is hidden inside bags of Cape Cod Original, Reduced Fat, and Sea Salt Waffle Cut Chips — the promotions runs through September 30, 2015! Complete rules and prize details can be found here.
Always bring lots of water to the park too!
Let the kids come-and-go, alternating between playing and eating snacks as they please!
