2 pregnancy extremes….
Just for fun, let’s chat about pregnancy extremes! Which categories best describe you:
A walk in the park for 9 months OR all hell broke loose, longest 9 months of your life.
Easy labor OR crazy hard birth.
And before that….
The anxious waiting as it takes months, even years to get pregnant OR surprise! you weren’t trying but you’re pregnant.
I know, I know… there’s a lot of middle ground too. For example the couple that started trying knowing it would take at least 5-6 months to get pregnant, possibly even a year but then got a positive test just 4 weeks later. Oh, wait, that was us.
There it was, the little “+” sign, I was so excited but then I caught myself as a little stream of doubt crept in, Are the tests ever wrong? I didn’t want to get excited it if wasn’t 100%. So I took 2 more tests, just to be sure. “+”, “+”, “+”!! There they were, 3 positive pregnancy tests all lined up neatly on my bathroom counter, all screaming YOU’RE PREGNANT at me! This time I let my self go ecstatic, I was having a baby, my very own little smooch!
My pregnancy ended up being a walk in the park but my labor ended up making up for it by being the hardest 12 hours of my life — excruciating back pain doesn’t even begin to describe it but the baby in the end somehow made it all worth it, not forgotten, but worth it.
Today I thought it would be fun if we talked success stories, all things pregnancy tests, pregnancy and baby. It’s fun to hear how different each story is, and some that are strikingly similar. There’s so many different emotions involved, joy & excitement, disappointment & anxiety, fears & frustrations, especially when timing comes into play.
In the end no matter how hard the journey was, the positive test and later the smiling (and crying) baby make it all worth it.
Will you share your story with us?
Let’s hear your story!
Were you blessed with a surprise baby, a baby that took his sweet time, OR somewhere in between?
What were your first thoughts right after you found out?
What was your pregnancy/birth like?
